Craiova!!

Hey there, its Kayta, Aubrey, Jessica and Megan W. We are currently at the church in Craiova and just finished up some devotional time. Since we arrived here last night, we have been blessed to meet our host families as well as many amazing student leaders from the church.
We Americans have been paired off (or in a group of four) and went to stay at different families homes around the city. Each house is a little bit different; some hosts live in apartments, others in homes and some don't speak English! It has been an adventure for all of us so far, and the language barrier has been more of an excitement than a struggle. Today we played a lot of get-to-know you games with the Romanian student leaders that brought us a lot closer as a team. Today we are also celebrating Megan W's 17th birthday; we even sang to her in Romanian :) She is currently sitting next to us opening her present! (thanks mom and dad!- Megan)
Yummmmmmmmy! We have been trying lots of new food including our favorite samali (sp?). It is a meat and rice mixture rolled in cabbage and kind of looks like an egg roll. Also, we have had our filling of carbs and meat, bread and sliced meat is served at every meal including breakfast.
Throughout our travels so far a couple team members have gotten new nicknames...
Erik AKA shnookums and Erika
Josh AKA Luda (short for Ludacris)
Brendon AKA mermaid (or merman)
and Matt Tolly AKA the big MTTTTTT

Well Lief is starting to talk again..shockerrr, but I guess we should go. more lataaaaaa
MISS AND LOVE YOU ALL HOMIES!
continue sharing your prayers its so nice to hear them:]

Hey All,
Great post and we are so glad Megan was there with you. Happy Birthday sweet girl. We have been searching for a computer in the U.P. so we could let you know that we woke up thinking about you and your team. We prayed for all of you and hope that you make some great connections with other students at the park tonight. Megan we wish we could see you for just a moment to give you a great big birthday hug. Will someone else give Megan a hug for us? We will continue to think of all of you and you will remain in our prayers. We hope God surprises you in some awesome ways today.
Megs we love you,
Mom, Dad and Maggie

It's so great to hear that the team made it to Craiova in one piece. Any missing luggage? Did you guys have a chance to try the Romanian's favorite pizza with eggs on it?!
I can't wait to hear how God works through all of you, but I know he does truly amazing things the week of camp so be prepared!
Pat- Keep being amazing, you are such a blessing to the team. I hope you have a chance to bond with Saiza again this year.
Lief- Please give George and Tony big hugs for me if you see them. Also give one to Steffi but don't squeeze her too hard!
Wishing more than anything that I was there with you guys and praying for you all.

Hi all, Love the details in the post! Thank you so much for sharing your experiences. It lets us participate more fully in the trip.

“Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us,” Hebrews 12:1

Love to all and especially my three girls!

Great News! I am glad you all weathered the travel. You have just travelled 4,955 miles, which means you have officially traveled more than half way around the world. Not bad for the first day or so. I wish you all great travels ahead and want to tell you that I am so proud of each and every one of you for having "faith with feet" and spreading the news of Gods incredible love to the world. Be safe, and try to keep Lief somewhat under control. ps Catie, your room mate assignment came. Can I open it???? Please Please Please.

Apparently Americans have a reputation overseas of eating a lot of junk food among other things, I know you are activley dispelling that rumor. However I was just reading a story about some of the new foods that have shown up at some state fairs...Maybe they are right about us : The Big Kahuna- A 1/2 lb burger sanwiched between two glazed donoughts, Chocolate covered bacon on a stick, Deep fried Jelly beans and my favorite " Koolickels" otherwise known as pickles soaked in koolaid. Makes you miss home even more doesn't it. :-) Have fun
