Day 2 in Craiova

Hey guys! It's Tess, Makenzie,Dani and Cassidy. We're writing from our host family's house in Craiova. We had a long, awesome day today filled with lots of laughs, friendship, and planning. We started off the day a little earlier than yesterday with breakfast at the church in Craiova. After breakfast, our team had our first devotional time and our second group meeting. During the meeting, we read a lot of your posts. It was awesome to see how much support we have back home. We also had a lot of requests for group hugs for Dani and Zack. So we gave them a huge group hug. Afterwards, we had lunch, which was made for us by amazing people from the church. One thing we're going to be doing at the camp is teaching English. After lunch, we began preparing for those classes. We were split into partners and into levels (Beginning, Intermediate, and Advanced). With the help of the interns that are coming to camp with us from Josiah Venture, we began to make lesson plans and organized our ideas on paper. After that, we headed over to the Ritz Restaurant to have a "coffee house" with the teens that are coming to the camp. We had a slideshow from last year, and played games. Zack Stevens was also able to play some solo music on his guitar for all of us. It was the first time he had ever played solo in front of a group of people, and he did amazing. We were all so proud of him. After the coffee house, we went to the park and walked around the lake with everyone from the coffee house. It was a great time to bond with everyone, and to make new friends. We also recruited a few hopefuls for the camp, which was awesome. It looks like we're going to fill all the spots for the camp, which is prayers answered. We went back to the church after the park and had dinner, and hung out. We are looking forward to church in the morning, and possibly a trip to the gypsy market. We are all in good health and spirits. We're all so excited for the camp, and to get to know everyone better. Thanks so much for all your prayers and comments, it really means a lot to us.

Hey, Tess!!
We loved your update on the blog. It's great hearing all you're doing so we can picture what the team is doing and pray. Glad to hear everyone is healthy. MG & E had a great birthday celebration at the Nitty Gritty with Megan, Gracie, and Avery. Their birthday wasn't the same without you and Dad here!! We miss you lots.

Maren - I think you were gone about an hour and the twins kept accusing you of taking all kinds of things along (sound familiar when they went off to UWM). I'd say sweet revenge, BUT since we're studying the sermon on the mount that's a big no-no...A guy from dad's softball team was upset that you hadn't been to any more games. CFS was awesome for Derek. His counselor was really cute because he looked like Josh Carlson. Miss you so much! FROG mom (Anita)

Hailey-
La trucha estúpida dice <<¡Te amo!>>. A él le gusta tus fotos de Rumania. :D jaja
Sounds like you guys are having lots of fun. The Honduras trip was cancelled until next summer if you haven't already heard. It was sad news for us, but I'm sure God has something bigger planned for us in the future. I guess we're all learning to trust Him this summer.
Have fun at camp! Just remember our hoopla game whenever you're feeling awkward like the freshman year you're leaving behind you <3 And remember- at least there are no hamburger rocks or creepy Cousin's guys in Romania! LYLAOJC (Love ya like an Orican jumping chicken )

Tess, Makenzie,Dani and Cassidy, thanks for sharing your day. Sounds like you are all having fun. And Zack- SO proud of you! I just giggled when I read that you sang at a coffee house. So cool. You have done cartwheels and hand springs out of your comfort zone. Amazing what trust in God can help you do. After singing, how many groupies did you have? :) Blessings on your service today and get lots of rest for the next leg of the trip!

Hey Tess and Team-

Glad to hear that all is going well in Romania. I am just blown away by the willingness of your group to go out of your comfort zones to do God's work - way to go! Those are some lucky campers you will be ministering to next week. May God continue to bless your journey. Tess - we will miss you at the family reunion - I'll pick a prize for you! Love - Aunt Memi

Dear Luke and Kelsey,
I hope you are both having an amazing time serving the kids and the team and the Lord. By now you are probably at the camp. I'm hoping you brought warm enough clothes. It's been great checking the blog.
I can hardly imagine, despite all the photos, what this experience has been like for you and the team. May God give you the strength to keep leading and serving.
We're all doing well. Brianna had a very good week at camp. We went to Minneapolis last Monday and Tuesday to bike. Mundane stuff compared to being in Romania!
Love,
Mom
